Today, 20 years ago, the Berlin Wall came down, changing the history of the European continent. (Posted: 2009-11-09 07:34:28)

If you want to know more about this. Europa-Nu and the University of Nijmegen are organising a debate about this matter. You are free to join this debate, at which I will personally prepare a photo slide show and a story about the Fall of the Wall. Want to know more: follow this this link Want to read an interesting article about what it was like to grow up in Eastern Germany? Read what Eik`s gotta say about the topic. New project: Cowork Company (Posted: 2009-09-04 23:51:17)

While I haven't even completed the new design of my main website (this one here, PhotoLogiX.nl), I am already rushing on completing another one in time.

Together with two partners, I am preparing the launch of the Cowork Company, a location that is going to offer desk for rent. Target audience: freelance people working on their own projects. Objective: taking away their need to either rent an expensive (and potentially very lonely) office or to work from home. Which sounds luxurious but is actually quite difficult and sometimes lonely, too.

Anyway, the website under development is www.coworkcompany.com and you can also follow the progress through www.twitter.com/coworkcompany.

Location: Leiden - NL, less than 100m away from central station. Opening due mid-October. Stay tuned!

A baby boy! (Posted: 2009-08-29 18:48:29)

A few years have passed since I first declared that I would not use my website(s) to spread personal information anymore. Well, there`s an exception to every rule... Just over a week ago, my son Lasse was born. A healthy little boy who is obviously the cutest baby in the world. In this photo, he is taking his first bath.

For more information about Lasse or about myself, please check either Twitter.com/photologix or my personal Facebook profile!

The article about Eik has been translated to another five languages (ES, IT, PL, ES, FR) which are all available at Cafe Babel. For Dutch-speakers, my article about Sweden was recently uploaded to the website Heel Europa. It joins earlier articles about Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Ireland in the series Europe... Article `Growing up in East Germany` published at Taurillon.org (Posted: 2009-08-15 20:56:13)

Back in July 2008, I interviewed 29-year-old Eik who back then lived in Dresden and told me about his childhood under the socialist regime. I am going to use this article to join a journalist competition about the 20th anniversary of the dismantled Berlin Wall, and needed to get the article published by official media before August 20.

Le Taurillon has helped me out by publishing an English and German version (translation by the interviewee).

There's going to be another 6-language release of the article on another website - I will post a link to that website once the article has been uploaded. For anyone who wants to read more articles like this one, I gladly refer to the Us Europeans website. Success guaranteed with another 365 articles about young Europeans.
